Today I received an email from Jake:

hi grama

things are going good here

im on antibiotics for a uti...1st one in a long

time...im also talking to a doctor about a hip surgery

but ill fill you in more when i talk to him more. im

getting into physical therapy and thank to lori i can

balance sitting up on my bed without using my

hands...also if i lay on my back in bed and touch m y

head to my feet i can sit myself back up with no

help... :) im also getting back into swimming and

possibly getting massages....ill keep you posted as i

find out more

Since typing is a physical challenge for Jake he doesn't bother with punctuation but I think you can understand his message. He is happy and relatively healthy.

I haven't talked to him in quite a while. When he is healthy and happy he is too busy to call Grandma and that makes me happy too.

But I will ask him to explain the 'head to foot' thing. :) Oh, wait I know what he means. If Jake is sitting up he sometimes flops forward- hence head to feet. Now I guess he can get back up without help. At least that's what I think he means.
